Six Ways To Repurpose An Old Dresser

Why Trash It When You Can Repurpose It?

Are you replacing your bedroom set, yet you don’t want to just trash the set? Well, we can help you with saving the dresser. We’ve got quite a few ideas to help you spice up that old dresser, or give it a brand new life! Check out some ideas below.

  1. Bookshelfdresser-360644_1920
Simply taking out the top few rows of drawers and adding a support at the bottom can turn any dresser into a beautiful new bookshelf!
  2. Storage Bench
This one may not be as easy as the others, but it sure looks nice. This is a great idea for someone who is looking for a new area to sit without giving up the storage aspect of the dresser!
  3. Expanded Dresser
With this idea, you’ll be adding more storage structure to your dresser. This is a great idea if you’re looking for a new way to store your tools and belongings in a workshop, in a children’s bedroom, or anywhere else! This is a useful idea instead of getting a brand new dresser.
  4. Entryway Shoe Cubby
This idea includes taking out the drawers of a dresser and adding supports so that you can throw your shoes in the openings. Whether you take out all the drawers or just a few is up to you!
  5. Hall Table
When you cut away the bottom portions of an old dresser, it will become a hall table! Again, it takes some work, but it’s so worth it.
  6. Entertainment Center
This is a bit similar to the shoe cubby, but used for a completely different purpose! Take out the bottom drawers, give it a new look with some sanding, painting, and fixtures, add a few support features for the inside, and ta-da! You’ve got yourself a new entertainment center!

Have you tried to repurpose an old dresser of yours? Or do you know someone that has? We’d love to see it! We always want to see your ideas come to life. Just send us your pictures and a little explanation of what you did, and we’d love to share it on our Facebook and Instagram. Check back and see what other ideas we have for repurposing soon!
